We are happy to announce that Gladys New Image Beauty Salon will be participating in the walk against AIDS this year. Its a 5k walk-a-thon benefiting Care Resource South Florida's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community organization providing Primary Medical Care, Dental, Psychosocial, Case Management, Outreach, Prevention and Education to over 15,000 residents living in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties who are either affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.

The fundraiser also benefits Food For Life Network Food Bank providing meals and groceries, as well as nutritional counseling and education, to eliminate malnutrition and starvation in children and adults living with HIV/AIDS. In addition, this annual fundraiser serves as a vital vehicle to raise awareness and funds to combat the effect HIV/AIDS continues to have on the South Florida region.

We don't have anyone close to us that is affected by the disease but we've had clients come in that have AIDS and we still treat them with respect and dignity they deserve. We are always sure to treat these clients as with any other client with the same safety precautions that must be taken to avoid ANY type of contamination or infection.

The walk-a-thon will be held on Sunday April 27th, if you wish to participate please let us know so we can put you on our team, of you can go online to: http://www.aidswalkmiami.org/ and register and join our team "#GladysNewImage" or Gladys New Image Beauty Salon. You can also pick up a form at the salon and pay the $25 registration fee at the event: Miami Beach Convention Center 1901 Convention Center Drive Miami Beach, Florida 33139 that starts at 8am and the walk will begin promptly 9am rain or shine. After the walk is over you can enjoy an exciting post-walk celebration located at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. Set on this lush 2.6 acre garden in the heart of South Beach with surprise live performance sponsored by MTV Staying Alive, DJ Mauricio Parra, complimentary massages from Educating Hands School of Massage, beverages, goodies and so much more.

Parking:

Parking is available at the City parking garages and on surface streets and lots surrounding the Miami Beach Convention Center. The City of Miami Beach usually charges a set flat rate for special event parking but this can be avoided if you park in a staffed parking garage and opt for the hourly charge of $1.75 per hour for up to 7 hours. Cars staying 8 hours or longer will be charged the special event flat rate
